Josie Freeman

When Josie began her journey to become a nurse practitioner she had always had a desire to work in her local community. The NoGAPP Residency Program has been the perfect opportunity to allow her to work with the population she is passionate about and have a positive transition into her new role. The NoGAPP Residency has provided support, structure, and continued education throughout her first year as an NP. This program has helped her develop a strong foundation to build her career on.

“The NoGAPP Residency is a well-rounded program that provides immense support while also promoting independence and growth. Meeting and getting to know the other residents has been very beneficial to share experiences with my peers. We connected with each other from the beginning and stay in close contact even though we are at different clinic locations.”

“Being able to visit specialty clinics has allowed me to gain detailed knowledge that I can use to better care for patients in my practice. Educational lectures are built into the residency program which I feel fosters lifelong knowledge development that is so important to provide the highest level of care. The residency program also does a great job pairing us with peer mentors that are dedicated to providing support and being available throughout the program.”

“Overall, the NoGAPP residency has been a very positive experience and I feel that I will be a better nurse practitioner because of this program.”
