Heather Jones

Heather is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and completed her MSN at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in August of 2021. She completed her BSN at Clayton College and State University in May of 2006. She has 15 years of emergency nursing experience, most of which have been spent at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. While working at Grady, she saw many patients use the ER as their primary care doctor. The limited access to primary healthcare she witnessed not only contributed to the overcrowding of their emergency department, but caused many preventable poor outcomes for their patients. This is what helped to spark her desire to become a family nurse practitioner. She is passionate about providing high-quality, compassionate care to all people regardless of their race or socioeconomic status. Outside of ER, she has served in the Army Reserves as a part of the Nursing Corps and volunteered for other international medical relief trips to countries such as: Cameroon, Honduras and India.

In May of 2020, she married to her husband, Chris, and moved to his hometown of Cleveland, GA. It was a welcome change of pace moving from Atlanta to the North Georgia mountains! She has one stepdaughter that loves to ride horses and three dogs at home who love to take us on hikes or walks to the lake. She is incredibly excited to be a part of this residency program and to able to serve in the community around her.
