Brenna Clinansmith

Though Brenna’s first job in healthcare was at Dekalb Medical Center on an adult ICU as a nurse extern, taking care of others has always been a passion of hers even at a young age. She started off as a mother’s helper in her neighborhood and then later as a babysitter. In high school, she expanded her love of taking care of others by traveling to Mexico to help build houses for the homeless and helped to repair a church. It was through these experiences that Brenna realized that she loved caring for others and that there is a great need for quality healthcare everywhere.

Brenna completed her BSN undergraduate degree at Georgia Baptist College of Nursing at Mercer University in 2004. After graduating, Brenna started working at Emory University on a liver transplant ICU. She was there for a year but knew that she always wanted to work with women and infants. She then started working at the busiest labor and delivery unit in the United States, Northside hospital in Atlanta. She continued working there for 10 years. After 10 years at Northside, Brenna, her husband and their 4 kids decided to give travel nursing a try. They traveled out to the west coast and lived in Oregon, California, and Washington state for 2 years. After completing 2 years of travel nursing, they returned to Georgia to live near family and friends. Brenna then began working at Gwinnett Medical on the High Risk Pregnancy unit. She has been working on the high risk unit for almost 5 years. During that time, she completed her masters as a family nurse practitioner and graduated in December 2021.

Brenna is excited to start this new chapter of providing care to others from various backgrounds and helping them to achieve their health goals. She believes that everyone should be provided with quality healthcare within their community and that MedLink is the perfect organization to provide this level of care.
